Are you looking to enhance your research skills and gain valuable experience in an international setting? Our inbound research internship program welcomes students from partner institutions around the world to join our vibrant academic community and collaborate with our faculty members on cutting-edge research projects. As an inbound research intern, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with renowned scholars, contribute to ongoing research initiatives, and broaden your academic horizons in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Only students enrolled in higher education institutes with research exchange partnerships with DGIST are eligible.

Overview

This program provides students from partner universities with supervised research experience in science and engineering while visiting each other’s institutions.

  • Duration : Summer (6-8 weeks)
  • Expenses:
    • Tuition : N/A, Waived (including cultural trips during the program)
    • International and domestic travel and transportation, room and board, and all personal expenses, including mandatory medical insurance: Borne by Program Students
  • Housing : On-campus dormitory
  • Lab matching :
    Our Student Exchange Coordinator assists inbound interns in matching with research labs and faculty mentors based on their academic interests and expertise.

Visa

Students need to obtain a D-2-8 (non-regular semester short-term study) visa to participate in the program in Korea. Please contact the Korean Embassy in your country to apply for a visa.

Life at DGIST

  • Dormitory : DGIST will reserve a room in the on-campus student dormitory after receiving information on the estimated date of arrival at DGIST and departure from DGIST of each student.

    Dormitory information

  • Orientation : An orientation will be held at the beginning of the Program.
  • DGIST Buddy : The Buddy Program is volunteer-based and aims to assist international students with everyday life on campus and to help them cope with the challenges of a new environment and culture. Each international student is paired with a DGIST student.
  • Living Guide : More information on campus life is available from the ‘Living Guide for International Members’, which can be downloaded from the following Guidebook
  • Cultural Excursions : In addition to short trips with buddies during weekends, participants will have the opportunity to experience Korean culture through the Cultural Excursion Program. The International Affairs Team will pay for transportation, meals, and all other expenses.
