UGRP

UGRP(Undergraduate Group Research Program)

A program in which third- and fourth-year undergraduate students form groups of approximately five members to autonomously select research topics and conduct self-contained research projects, allowing for adventurous challenges.

Operating Procedures

Selection within the main themes through public competition, without type differentiation, where students form groups and propose autonomous sub-topics for execution.

Curriculum Arrangement
  • Possible joint team formation for third- and fourth-year students.
  • A total of six credits per year for advanced research (mandatory).
Group Composition
  • Four to six students per group, UGRP committee members, and joint advisory professors and researchers from DGIST faculties.

Grade
  • Conducted on a semester basis, with S/U (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) grading.
Support Scale
  • Support ranging from KRW 7 million per group.

Educational Objectives

  • Cultivating interdisciplinary thinking skills (in-depth application of basic science knowledge from first to second year courses).
  • Enhancing collaboration skills through group research.
  • Conducting self-contained research projects led by undergraduate students.
  • Fostering an entrepreneurial mindset with the goal of developing sellable solution technologies.
  • Providing education to contribute to national competitiveness and regional industrial development.
