Undergraduate Studies

Common mandatory, Compulsory selective courses

Graduate School

  • Course credit(Common compulsory course, Common elective course, Major course), Research credit(Thesis, Capstone, Seminar, Internship)
  • Curriculum for Each Department : Check a curriculum on websites of respective departments (ex. Education → Curriculum / Coursework)

Credit

The unit of course completion shall be credits, and 1 hour per week in one semester, or an equivalent number of hours of education, shall be one credit.

  • Students who register for more than the maximum credit requirements must submit the application to Educational Affairs and Records Team.
  • Required the approval of Advisory Professor and Department Chair
M.S. 9 to 12 credits 0 to 9 credits
  • Students who register for more than the maximum credit requirements must submit the application to Educational Affairs and Records Team.
  • Students who register for less than the minimum credit requirements during the final semester or after completing all of the required credits for graduation must submit the application.
Ph.D.
Integrated MS-PhD 3 to 12 credits 0 to 9 credits
Combined UG-G

Undergraduate Studies: With the approval from Advisory Professor and Chair of Undergraduate Studies, the request form for excess credits should be submitted to Educational Affairs and Records Team until the four days before course registration.

Notes

  • When taking 800-unit (special lecture) and 900-unit (research credits) courses of the same subject, duplicate credits are recognized.

    No retakes are allowed.

  • For "Thesis" and "Capstone" courses, after consulting with the instructor, the credit to be applied should be determined and directly entered when registering.
  • If less than 9 credits are acquired, student support expenses such as scholarships and teaching assistant payments will not be paid in the following semester.

    Reasons for non-payment of student support expenses: less than 9 credits acquired, disciplinary action, academic warning, exceeding the maximum enrollment period (4 semesters for master's, 8 semesters for doctoral, 10 semesters for integrated programs).

  • Class time units : 50 minutes, 75 minutes
  • Undergraduate students must register for 10 credits or more per semester.

Course registration, changes, and withdrawals

Course registration

  • Check notice my.dgist.ac.kr → Bulletin → Academic Announcements
  • Undergraduate Studies : Access the course registration system at sugang.dgist.ac.kr → Login (using student portal ID and PW) → Add to Cart or Register → Click the registration button for the desired course
  • Graduate School : Access the course registration system at sugang.dgist.ac.kr, login (using student portal ID and PW), then register for courses.

Course Registration Changes

  • Undergraduate Studies: Access the course registration system sugang.dgist.ac.kr → Login (using student portal ID and PW) → Add to Cart or Register → Click the registration or cancellation button for the desired course change
  • Graduate School : Access the course registration system sugang.dgist.ac.kr, login (using student portal ID and PW), and then apply for course changes.

Course Withdrawal

  • Undergraduate Studies : Within two weeks after the course registration change period ends, students must apply for course withdrawal on the student portal and obtain approval from the course instructor and department head.
  • Student Portal :my.dgist.ac.kr → Information Plaza → Classes → Select Withdrawal Course → Write Reason for Withdrawal → Apply → Instructor Approval → Department Head Approval → Headquarters Approval
  • Graduate School : Within two weeks after the course registration change period ends, students must apply for course withdrawal on the student portal and obtain approval from the course instructor and department head.
  • Student Portal : my.dgist.ac.kr → Information Plaza → Classes → Apply for Course Withdrawal → Instructor Approval → Department Head Approval → Headquarters Approval
