What makes DGIST different? WhyDGIST

Introduction

Pre-DGIST

Pre-DGIST is a program for incoming freshmen to the DGIST School of Undergraduate Studies that provides a range of educational programs to help adjust to living and learning at DGIST, such as lectures on study methods, English education programs, and mentoring activities.

Pre-DGIST Operation : 053-785-6652

Pre-DGIST Overview

Target: Accepted applicants to the DGIST School of Undergraduate Studies

Participation fee: Free (Accommodation and meals provided)

Venue: DGIST Consilience Hall (E7) main auditorium, classrooms, sports complex, etc.

Transportation: Individual arrangements or DGIST shuttle bus; *Shuttle bus times to be notified in advance

Key Content of Pre-DGIST (Some programs are subject to change)

President’s lecture

Academic assessment

Lecture on study methods

English education program (PBT lecture and mock tests, PBT test)

Mentor-mentee activities

FGLP Introduction and UGRP Presentation

Career guidance program

External lectures (Etiquette, gender and ethics, sports, humanities, etc.)

Objectives and Characteristics of Pre-DGIST

Recruitment activity

Aiding students in decision making through various programs to encourage successful candidates of early application to enroll at DGIST.

FGLP facilitation

Promoting the FGLP, a program that allows students to take summer semesters at the world’s leading universities (UC Berkeley, Stanford, Johns Hopkins Univ.)

Subject clinics

Giving students the opportunity to learn the contents of Mathematics 2, Physics 2, Biology 2, and Chemistry 2 before starting studies at DGIST, if they had not taken these classes in high school.

Helping students adjust to DGIST

Giving students the opportunity to make friends, meet their professors through mentoring, and participate in various campus activities to facilitate their adjustment to campus life.
