DGIST signed an MOU with the Daegu Chamber of Commerce & Industry(DCCI) to foster qualified individuals for the research of artificial intelligence(AI) technology and to intensify the ICT industry’s competitiveness in connection with the locally specialized industry.
Through the MOU, the two institutes agreed to ▲ cooperate on technology and research in association with the establishment of the AI graduate school, ▲ share information for solving technological difficulties in industrial sites, and ▲ establish a cooperation system to promote research based on projects carried out in cooperation with local companies and develop technologies for commercialization.
Through cooperation, both institutes are expected to foster talented people with master’s or doctorate’s degrees specializing in AI while also establishing a foothold for contributing to the local industry by fostering the AI industry in and around Daegu.
Department Chair of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Prof. Kyung-Joon Park said, “We will make all-out efforts to act as a primer for fostering highly qualified talented people in AI, which is the core foundation of the fourth industrial revolution, and will also contribute to the development of local industries through the MOU.”
Meanwhile, DGIST is making full preparations to be selected for the AI Graduate School Project that the Ministry of Science and ICT is promoting as part of the Korean New Deal policy this year.
