Senior Researcher Myoungjae Lee in DGIST Intelligence Devices and Systems Research Group won the Prime Minister’s Citation on the ‘Science and Information Communications Day’

DGIST (President Young Kuk) announced on Wednesday, April 24 that Senior Researcher Myoungjae Lee in Intelligence Devices and Systems Research Group was selected as a man of merit for science technology development in the commemorative ceremony of ‘2019 Science and Information Communications Day’ and received the Prime Minister’s Citation.

Senior Researcher Myoungjae Lee was recognized for his technology R&D contributions by pioneering the next generation resistance memory semiconductor and developing AI neuromorphic semiconductor device, publishing 90 research papers on science and technology, being cited for 11,600 times, and registering 88 patents in Korea and abroad. This won him the Prime Minister’s Citation on ‘2019 Science and Information Communications Day.’

The neuromorphic device developed by Senior Researcher Myoungjae Lee’s team can conduct a parallel arithmetic operation of power and can thus be used as super power-saving device or circuit to process vast amount of big data information. Also, it can be applied on next generation intelligent semiconductor device technology such as machine learning and deep learning AI development and brain-imitate semiconductor.

Meanwhile, the commemorative ceremony of ‘Science and Information Communications Day’ evaluated various contributions to science technology and information communications, national informatization, and ICT convergence development across industry, academia, and research. The award winners were decided through recommendations from relevant institutes and organizations and experts screening on their official contributions.
