Dissertation and Thesis Submission

Undergraduate Thesis

Degree Requirements

  • Those who submit designated tasks or theses and pass the prescribed review process are eligible for the prescribed degree.
  • Tasks or theses may be substituted with research outcomes from the UGRP (Undergraduate Group Research Program).
  • The submitted thesis is reviewed by a committee consisting of one faculty member recommended by the dean, one thesis advisor, and one faculty member recommended by the advisor.

Graduate Thesis

Advisor Assignment

  • Thesis Advisor : Within 6 months after admission.
  • Co-Thesis Advisor : Before submitting the thesis plan.

Thesis Submission Procedure

STEP 1
Submission of Thesis Proposal (Submission Location: Department Office)
  • Master's Program Students: Within 3 semesters of enrollment.
  • Doctoral Program Students and Integrated Program Transfer Students: (After passing the comprehensive exam) Within 7 semesters of enrollment / Within 7 semesters after transfer.
  • Integrated Program Students: (After passing the comprehensive exam) Within 9 semesters of enrollment.
  • Linked Program Students: (After passing the comprehensive exam) Within 9 semesters of enrollment, within 1 semester after obtaining a master's degree.
STEP 2
Thesis Proposal Evaluation
  • Evaluation by the Thesis Proposal Review Committee within 1 month after submission.
  • Passing Criteria
    • Master's Degree: Approval by at least 2/3 of the members present at the Thesis Proposal Review Committee.
    • Doctoral Degree: Approval by at least 4/5 of the members present at the Thesis Proposal Review Committee.
STEP 3
Submission of Thesis (Submission Location: Department Office)
  • Thesis submission in mid-May (scheduled for graduation in August) and mid-November (scheduled for graduation in February) after the thesis proposal is approved.
  • Thesis submission for doctoral degree cannot be conducted in the same semester as the thesis proposal review.
STEP 4
Thesis Evaluation
  • Passing Criteria
    • Master's Degree: Approval by at least 2/3 of the members present at the Thesis Evaluation Committee.
    • Doctoral Degree: Approval by at least 4/5 of the members present at the Thesis Evaluation Committee.
  • Re-evaluation: If the thesis evaluation fails, re-evaluation can be requested once in the desired semester.
STEP 5
Submission of Completed Thesis (Submission Location: Academic Culture Team)

Submission of printed and electronic copies of the completed thesis.
